Job Description

To float inquiries to vendors as per the specifications given by Production, Stores and Marketing Dept.
Candidate should have sound knowledge and experience in purchase of engineering goods like plates, Pipes, Valves, Elbows, Forgings, Bars, Instruments, and Flanges
Get Quotations from various vendors, compare and negotiate them with respect to Price, Terms and Delivery.
To develop new vendors.
Raise purchase orders on vendors based on the best price and terms.
To follow-up for the ordered material and ensure its timely delivery as per PO.
Maintain relevant registers and other records as required.
Co-ordinate with vendors for defective and short-supplied parts and get due replacements/ balance material from vendors
To arrange for the transportation of material

Keep track of vendor payments and release them as per PO terms. Desired profile of the candidate

The desired candidate should be a B.E.-Mechanical / M.Com or B.Com / MBA with hands-on experience in the engineering/technical sector.
The candidate should be smart, well-versed with English language and studied throughout English medium.
Experience in procurement/ supply chain dept. in valve manufacturing company would be preferred.
Knowledge of Tally and various computer applications an added advantage.
Should be diligent and sincere with a mindset to work till late hours, if required.
