Job Description
Customer Care –Assist customers by carrying merchandise, upon request, to cashier area or to customer’s vehicle; as well as provide courteous, efficient and attentive service in a timely manner by welcoming customers, directing customers to needed merchandise or by taking the customer to a Sales Clerk for assistance.
Freight – Deliver freight to appropriate department. May help put stock on shelves.
Housekeeping - Perform general housekeeping/janitorial duties including, but not limited, keeping store free of debris and litter, removing and disposing of unwanted or useless materials, dusting merchandise on shelves, sweeping floor areas, etc. Remove, break down and recycle empty boxes from all areas.
Outside Maintenance – Return carts in parking lot to store and keeping front walks clean.
Level II:
In order to be a Store Helper II the Incumbent must, in addition to the above, meet four (4) of the following six (6) criteria:
Designated to work in a specific department
Trained as a back-up cashier
Unloads/loads truck deliveries using forklift on a regular basis throughout the day
Trained as a back-up Lumber Yard Clerk
Regularly assigned to mentor and train new store helpers
Assigns and organizes tasks for other store helpers
