Job Description
A Leader in the industry and a manufacturer of innovative products for the Water industry have an exciting opportunity for a Proposals, Tendering or Bid Engineer to join them and their busy proposals team.
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Working with core equipment bids, small, medium and large projects and assisting with large multi disciplined project proposals. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high quality competitive tenders to meet business targets, follow-up sales work and support in negotiating and communicating with customers.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Preparation of Tenders for the supply of equipment for Waste-water
2. Coordinating design process and liaison with internal design offices & external consultants.
3. Developing Pre-Tender bid budgets with the assistance for the Proposals Manager
4. Coordinating technical and commercial reviews of tenders prior to submiss
ion
5. Assist the Business Developers and participate in Tender Pre-Qualification document production.
IDEAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
1. HND / Engineering Degree (Petrochem, Mechanical, Civil (with fluid / water bias).
2. Waste-water systems design and / or clean water systems design.
3. Preferably a good track record of the tendering or Proposals process with M&E equipment to the Water or Petrochem Industry whether in the UK or Overseas.
4. Experience of project estimating software or similar multi disciplined project planning packages and advantage.
5. Experience of Technical and Commercial negotiation within a contractual environment.
6. Preferable (but not necessary) Knowledge of terms and condition of contract (G90, ICE6th, IChemE, NEC, FIDIC and their relevant subcontracts etc.)
7. Overseas travel relating to specific tendering requirements (site visits, customer / client meetings, supplier meetings etc).
8. An organised team worker with speed and attention to detail (a good completer finisher).
9. Computer Literate with skills in Word, Excel and data entry in to the company ERP system.
